About us
Staying connected is part of staying well
A Digital Friends helps older people who are lonely or isolated to stay connected, through regular conversation, practical help with technology and ongoing support.
Why we exist
We believe everyone deserves to feel valued, heard and connected. For many older people, the telephone and the tablet are how family, friends and community reach them. When those links fade, days can become very quiet.
We started A Digital Friends to keep those links strong: with regular companionship, patient digital support, and a proper response when something is wrong.
We work early, before loneliness becomes something heavier. We are not a clinical or care service, and when someone needs more we help them find it.
Our approach
We start by listening
Before we introduce anyone to a Digital Friend, we take time to understand them:
- Their interests and hobbies
- How they prefer to communicate
- The people already around them
- Their confidence with technology
- What they would like to get out of it

Our values
What we stand for
Compassion
Kindness first, in every conversation.
Inclusion
Technology should open doors, not close them.
Reliability
We do what we say, when we say we will.
Confidentiality
What people share with us is handled with care.
Person-centred
Support shaped around the person, never the other way round.
Our team
