For professionals
Referring someone you support
GPs, social prescribers, social workers, housing officers and community teams can refer people who are lonely, isolated or struggling with technology.

Working with us
Who we can help, and how
Who we can help
Older people experiencing loneliness or social isolation, including those who would benefit from help with devices and video calling.
Safeguarding
Every member of staff and every volunteer is Enhanced DBS checked, and we follow safeguarding procedures.
Making a referral
What to include
- Your name, role and organisation, and the best way to reach you
- The person’s first name and telephone number
- Their interests, and the best days and times to call
- Anything that would help us approach them well, such as hearing difficulties
Please do not include detailed medical information in the form. We can talk about any needs when we speak.
What happens next
- We contact the person and have a friendly first conversation.
- We match them with a Digital Friend who suits them.
- Regular calls and support begin at a time that suits.
- We keep you informed where appropriate, with the person’s agreement.
We are not an emergency service. If someone is at immediate risk of harm, contact the emergency services on 999 and follow your own organisation’s safeguarding procedures.
