Safeguarding and trust
Keeping people safe is part of everything we do
How we protect the people we support, our volunteers, and the information people share with us.
Our commitment
Every member of our team and every volunteer is Enhanced DBS checked.
Enhanced DBS checks
Everyone who speaks to the people we support has an Enhanced DBS check, as part of our safeguarding approach.
Training and support
Volunteers receive training and guidance, and our team is there when they have a question or a concern.
Careful matching
We take time to understand each person before introducing them to a Digital Friend.
Your information
We handle personal information in line with UK data protection law.
Consent and dignity
Support is always the person’s choice
We only contact people who know about a referral and are happy to hear from us, and we treat everyone with dignity and respect. People can change their minds at any time.
If we are worried about someone
If a Digital Friend is concerned about someone’s safety or wellbeing, they raise it with our team, and we follow our safeguarding procedures. That can include contacting family, a GP or other services.
Where someone is at risk of harm, we may need to share information to keep them safe, as our privacy policy explains.
